ABOUT
*KHBEC Kingborough New Business of the Year (2024)*
Since its founding in 2023, IRSC has defined what professional community theatre south of Hobart can be, providing a creative outlet for otherwise arts-starved areas; IRSC is the only theatre production company in the Kingborough and outside Huonville in the Valley.
With over 30 classes a week across several rural town halls, and regular productions in musical theatre and plays, IRSC is dedicated to expanding its knowledge, connections and quality with every project.
OUR MISSION & VALUES
At IRSC our mission is to create accessible opportunities for all across the Kingborough and Huon Valley. We’re passionate about nurturing children who are creative, inclusive and confident, both inside and outside the studio. The performing arts is our vehicle, but the journey we take together is so much bigger.
Our values guide everything we do:
COMMUNITY
IRSC is a place to belong. We foster a supportive, inclusive environment where students, families and staff grow together through shared experiences and a strong sense of ensemble.
CREATIVITY
We champion imagination, curiosity and storytelling. Through thoughtful training and creative exploration, students are encouraged to express themselves with individuality and intention.
CONFIDENCE
Confidence is built through preparation, encouragement and opportunity. We celebrate progress at every stage, helping young performers develop self-belief, resilience and pride in their work.
CARE
We lead with care in all that we do. From age-appropriate teaching to clear communication and student wellbeing, we prioritise safe, respectful spaces where every performer feels supported.

Culture
At IRSC, we are dedicated to fostering a culture that is inclusive, creative, and collaborative. We celebrate the diverse perspectives and experiences that each individual brings, creating an environment where everyone feels empowered, comfortable, and free to express themselves.

Recognising that many in our community come from limited theatre backgrounds, we are committed to supporting and uplifting both established artists and newcomers. We strive to create spaces where people from all backgrounds can come together, be brave, and create bold work. We encourage all involved in our initiatives to approach their work with generosity, curiosity, kindness, and respect.

At IRSC, we are a company of connections. From the first introductions to the final bows, we build friendships and cultivate positivity throughout the entire journey of each project. Through our initiatives, we aim to remain connected and responsive to each other, our communities, our industries, and the broader global context. Regardless of your background or location, we invite you to join us in our mission to be a creative force for good in our community.
Accessibility
Inclusive Practice is essential to the work that we do, and we want to make sure that IRSC is always a welcoming and accessible place for disabled and neurodivergent young people. As part of this commitment we:

STAFF RESOURCES - Educate staff on neurodiversity and effective communication strategies to support attendees with diverse needs

QUIET ROOMS - Provide designated spaces where individuals can retreat if they feel overwhelmed.
MINIMIZE DISTRACTIONS - Ensure that rehearsal and class spaces are free from unnecessary stimuli that could divert attention.

READABLE FONTS - Offer programs and materials in dyslexia-friendly fonts and formats, such as sans-serif fonts and high-contrast colour schemes.
As of January 2026, IRSC is officially a Sunflower Hidden Disability business and all event volunteers are trained in identifying and supporting the sunflower lanyard/pin.
Isabella's Story
Isabella R. Briffa began her performing arts journey at age 4 in Queensland, completing dance alongside speech & drama examinations and Eisteddfods. Upon moving to Tasmania as a preteen, Isabella continued her passion for the performing arts whilst in school before commencing teaching at age 16. Then in 2023 at age 19, Isabella founded the Isabella Rose Stage Company and was the recipient of the 2024 Kingborough New Business Award. 2026 marks Isabella (now aged 22) seventh year as an afterschool dance & drama/acting teacher, fifth year as a director/choreographer and fourth year as a producer.
Isabella’s credits as an established producer, choreographer and director include choreographing Huon Valley Theatre’s ‘Annie Jr’, Producing, Directing & Choreographing IRSCs ‘Footloose’, ‘Heathers: Teen Edition’, and ‘Hansel & Gretel: The Pantomime’. And most recently, Co-Directing and Choreographing Kingston Primary School’s ‘Matilda Jr’, and directing the Kingborough Council’s ‘A Christmas Carol: The Pantomime’.
In 2026, Isabella will be continuing her work as the founder and owner of IRSC, including teacher 20+ weekly group and private lessons and directing/choreographing Ride The Cyclone: High School Edition. She is also supporting the coordination of Kingston Primary School’s first-ever Festival of Arts & Culture, while also planning the school’s 2027 whole-school musical. Isabella will be continuing her partnership with the Kingborough Council to host ongoing Kingston-based community workshops and a 2026 Christmas Pantomime production.
She channels her lifelong passion and extensive experience within the performing arts while drawing on her ever-expanding knowledge as a full-time DECYP Teacher’s Assistant of three years (ongoing) into every class, program and production she leads. This enables her to embed best practice in educational support, child safety and wellbeing, inclusive practices, and community development across all her work.
